Scoop into a punch bowl 8 cups of vanilla ice cream. Add 8 cups of eggnog and cinnamon and nutmeg to taste. Mix to combine, then stir in 16 ounces of thawed Cool Whip.

Note: You can easily halve or quarter this recipe. And you can mix it in a pitcher if you don't have a punch bowl. Some people feel a punch bowl is too fancy or pretentious. I think it's very practical for serving beverages to a large group. And it makes the occasion a tad more special as well.
